Cock-a-doddle-do

How do you like my colorful Rooster friend here? See how dignified and cocky…ahem…I mean confident he is? Roosters are arrogant fowls thinking it’s their right and duty to perch up high at dawn and cock-a-doddle-do for all in the vicinity to hear. I suppose it really is. They annouce the dawning of new day with cocky bravado…excuse that pun I couldn’t help myself. Roosters actually have a lot going for them, they’re fortunate creatures indeed. One strutting male with a hen house full of anxious females panting or should it be clucking for his attention and vying to lay eggs. Now that’s every man’s dream isn’t it? A harem of women for his choosing and he doesn’t have to feed or take care of them. Well dream on fellas because unless you’re a barnyard rooster it’s not going to happen! But I digress so back to my point being that one of my strong desires in life is to own a small farm. Me, a born and bred city girl with a hankering for life closer to nature and surrounded by animal companions. City life has lost it’s allure with me, enough of this cement jungle, thank you very much. Among my favorite farm animals are my friends the chickens…ah…did I say friends or main course at the dinner table? Opps, maybe I better rethink that statement. Nevertheless, my longing for a simpler, more peaceful and much less intense existence will play out nicely on a sweet little hobby farm in Virginia, Lord willing
I’d Like To Know…
I’d like to know how to effectively keep GOD in the forefront of our minds, life and spirit with all the distracting personal issues, environmental commotion and social chaos going on around us. All over the place life happens in loud demand and video sound bites. We’re sucked in to it’s vortex whether we want to be or not. Our culture has become globally digitized and morally destabilized. The things of GOD are being pushed further and further off the radar while the world and it’s ungodly clamor saturates out culture. The Bible says be still and know HE is GOD…BUT THE WORLD WON’T LET US! Any solutions out there?
GOD doesn’t call the qualified, HE qualifies the called.
