Elephant Walk

I think elephants are some of GOD’s most magnificent and beautiful creatures on this planet. I like those big floppy ears those useful tusks and trunks on that powerful body. It would be accurate to say elephants are my all time favorite animal from the wild terrain or jungle. I was once told by a preacher I was enamoured with elephants because they represent power and I was attracted to power. After thinking it over for a while I had to agree I hold great store in strength. I admire physical strength of course but what I value most is strength of character. Character is the thing that mortars our reputation and representation. I work on mine constantly to improve how I roll, to put it in my laid back vernacular. I want to have good character, strong in Christly values that glorify GOD. It has become very important to me to be a living testimony to the transformning Hand of GOD. Elephants are very powerful creatures fashioned by an All-Powerful Creator.
Elephatnts have a good reputation in the animal kingdom. They are huge but gentle mammals. Innately familial and loyal to the herd. Elaphants have characteristics much like humans. They tenderly nurture their young and mourn their dead ritually. They are not at all aggressive to other animals. Yet they will stomp the life out of an animal trying to hurt them, their calves or fellow pachyderms. An elephant stampede can decimate a thriving jungle or rainforrest in a matter of minutes but it’s not necessarily a ferocious act to destroy but a defense mechanism to flee danger. Over the years I have learned a lot about this large and powerful beast and it has always made me admire them more. I collect all things elephant. I love anything remotely shaped like an elephant. Those close to me know what to gift me with because my home is a testament to my fancy for elephants. From the African to the Asian, Savannah, water or desert breed, from ficticious Dumbo to the actual but now expired Echo the Elephant; elephants have been for a long time one of my favorite things.
How Come…
How come when people get excited at a concert and scream their heads off it’s okay? How come when they go crazy, get loud and extremely animated at sports event it’s perfectly acceptable? How come we get rowdy at a cook out or boisterous watching movies that’s okay too…but…raise your hands in church to praise the GOD that gives you breath and eye brows raise. Get loud when you worship the Lord Jesus who saved your soul and it’s too much. Heaven forbid you get too excited when you think about the goodness of GOD and what HE’s brought you through because people will say it’s excessive. How comes that seems twisted to me or is it just me?
