Juneteenth 2021, a National Holiday

asedJuneteenth is now a national holiday in the USA. Signed into law just a couple of days ago, the Juneteenth holiday is seen as an attempt to defuse the racially charge atmosphere in this country. Juneteenth has a history behind it and a special meaning to African Americans as our Independence Day instead of July 4th. The racial tensions in the nation may not be eased by the holiday's new national status but it is a welcomed event and one that has long been desired.
