September: National Suicide Month
Updated: Aug 14, 2020
I've just released a new story titled, IN THE NICK OF TIME. This short story is about two people in two very different places in their lives but their paths cross again after years of separation and just at the right time. It is a story framed by an important topic; suicide. September is National Suicide Month. Just the fact that suicide is so prevalent, we need to dedicate a month to its awareness says a lot. Suicide has escalated in the United States to an alarming rate. There are no boundaries it does not cross and suicide leaves a trail of shattered family members and friends as well. My story highlights suicide in a fictional scenario without getting into the various emotional and mental maladies that can cause it but I state here and now, emphatically, that suicide regardless to the natural indications is spiritual and is a weapon from the adversary. There are organizations that can help those considering suicide or those dealing with the fall out of someone they cared about committing suicide. There is help for potential suicide victims if we can get them to it before they act. My prayer is for anyone with suicidal tendencies to reach out now and seek help while you can.
